ANAS autorun creator.

'ANAS autorun Creator' is a freeware tool coded myself to make autorun files easily.
Its a portable application, so that theres no need to install it. The application has two input boxes and one button. One input box is to take the name of the icon from the user, while other one is to take the name of the .exe file.(optional)
Its very easy to use this application.

You just give the input in the input boxes (second one is optional) and hit the create button. Then an 'autorun.inf' file will be created in the same path directory of  ''ANAS autorun Creator".

Just copy and paste this 'autorun.inf' file to the removable storage media with the icon file.
You are done...! Replug the removable storage media, and you can see that the icon is changed.!

Setup Email account in nokia S40.

Its nice if we can configure our mail on our handy device. yes, its possible on nokia S40 too..
Its very easy to do so...

You don’t have to set up a new email account to use Email from your Nokia phone. The service is designed to work with the accounts you already have.
  1. Select Mail on your home screen
  2. Select Get the latest services
  3. Select Your internet connection
  4. Read the service terms and privacy policy and select I agree
  5. A list of email service providers appears on your home screen. Select the one you want to use, or, if it isn’t there, select Other.
  6. Enter your email address and password and select Sign in. The phone will automatically load your email settings.

My first 64bit application's GUI is ready...

Hai friends...
Last week i was planning to create an application to automate keystrokes and mouse clicks. I think, this application will be helpful to all the windows users. The development is still on progress. I am damn sure that, this program will help users to automate scrap and SMS sending etc. Its a tiny standalone portable application. As you see in the picture, its easy to use. You can see some numbers in that application (eg: 120, 140 etc), they are mouse positions. That's sample GUI is ready and the back-end will be ready within this month itself. Its source code will be posted in ma blog after its release. Hope, i can do it well.

What is safe mode?

What is safe mode?
Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer in a limited state.
Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started.
The words Safe Mode appear in the corners of your monitor to identify which Windows mode you're using.
If an existing problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode,
you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes.
If you don't know the cause of the problem,
you can use the process of elimination to help you find the problem.
Try starting all of the programs you commonly use, including the programs in your Startup folder,
one by one to see if a program might be the cause of the problem.
If your computer automatically starts in safe mode without prompting,
 a problem with your computer might be preventing Windows from starting normally.
If you think the cause of the problem might be a recently installed program or device,
try using Recovery in Control Panel.

Why should I create themes?

The integrated web browser can access most web content through the service provider's XHTML/HTML gateway. The latest version of Series 40, called Series 40 6th Edition, introduced a new browser based on the WebKit open source components WebCore and JavaScriptCore. Series 40 is an embedded software platform that is open for software development via standard or de-facto content and application development technologies. Lets go through the mobile OS....

Symbian is an operating system (OS) designed for mobile devices and smartphones,
with associated libraries, user interface, frameworks and reference implementations of common tools,
originally developed by Symbian Ltd.

In 2008, the former Symbian Software Limited was acquired by Nokia and a new independent non-profit organisation called
the Symbian Foundation was established.
Symbian OS and its associated user interfaces S60, UIQ and MOAP(S) were contributed by their owners to the foundation with
 the objective of creating the Symbian platform as a royalty-free,
open source software. The platform has been designated as the successor to Symbian OS,
following the official launch of the Symbian Foundation in April 2009.
The Symbian platform was officially made available as open source code in February 2010.[3]


Symbian features pre-emptive multitasking and memory protection, like other operating systems (especially those created for use on desktop computers).
EPOC's approach to multitasking was inspired by VMS and is based on asynchronous server-based events.

Symbian OS was created with three systems design principles in mind:

    * the integrity and security of user data is paramount,
    * user time must not be wasted, and
    * all resources are scarce.

To best follow these principles, Symbian uses a microkernel, has a request-and-callback approach to services,
and maintains separation between user interface and engine.
The OS is optimised for low-power battery-based devices and for ROM-based systems (e.g. features like XIP and re-entrancy in shared libraries).
 Applications, and the OS itself, follow an object-oriented design: Model-view-controller (MVC).

Later OS iterations diluted this approach in response to market demands,
notably with the introduction of a real-time kernel and a platform security model in versions 8 and 9.

There is a strong emphasis on conserving resources which is exemplified by Symbian-specific programming idioms such as descriptors and a cleanup stack.
There are similar techniques for conserving disk space (though the disks on Symbian devices are usually flash memory).
Furthermore, all Symbian programming is event-based, and the CPU is switched into a low power mode when applications are not directly dealing with an event.
This is achieved through a programming idiom called active objects. Similarly the Symbian approach to threads and processes is driven by reducing overheads.

The Symbian kernel (EKA2) supports sufficiently-fast real-time response to build a single-core phone around it—that is,
a phone in which a single processor core executes both the user applications and the signalling stack[5].
This is a feature which is not available in Linux[citation needed]. This has allowed Symbian EKA2 phones to become smaller, cheaper and more power efficient than their predecessors[citation needed].

Lets know whats Autorun...

Autorun

Autorun is a technology used to automatically start programs or enhanced content (such as video content on a music CD)
when you insert a CD or another media type into your computer. This is different from AutoPlay,
but the result is often the same: when inserted, the CD starts automatically by using a particular program.
Autorun is incorporated into the media types that use it, and you can't modify it.

When you try to play a CD or another media type that uses autorun,
AutoPlay asks you to choose an action to perform (for example, to play the autorun content or to skip it).

Beep codes

Beeps are emitted from the computer during boot process when some problem is encountered and
can be used vto trouble shoot a dead computer.
They indicate problems such as bad memmory, bad keyboard or bad mother motherboard.
Usually if you hear beeps, there is something really wrong and
you should immediatly turn off the computer and perform some troubleshooting.

XPS Viewer

What is the XPS Viewer?




An XPS document is any file that is saved in the XML Paper Specification, or .xps, file format.
You can create XPS documents (.xps files) by using any program that you can print from in Windows;
however, you can only view XPS documents by using an XPS Viewer, such as the one included in this version of Windows.

When you click an XPS document, it opens automatically in the XPS Viewer.
There are several options for viewing and managing XPS documents in the XPS Viewer, including:

Saving a copy of an XPS document to your computer

Searching the document for a word or phrase

Zooming in or out to make text and pictures easier to read

Digitally signing the XPS document

Determining who can access the document and for how long by applying document permissions

Create a system repair disc

System recovery options can help you repair Windows if a serious error occurs. To use system recovery options,
you'll need a Windows installation disc or access to the recovery options provided by your computer manufacturer.
If you don't have either of those choices, you can create a system repair disc to access system recovery options.

To create a system repair disc
Click to open Backup and Restore.

In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Note
If you're prompted to insert a Windows installation disc,
it means that the files needed to create the system repair disc can't be found on your computer.
Insert a Windows 7 installation disc.

system image

What is a system image?



A system image is an exact copy of a drive. By default, a system image includes the drives required for Windows to run.
It also includes Windows and your system settings,
programs, and files.
You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working.
When you restore your computer from a system image, it's a complete restoration;
you can't choose individual items to restore, and all of your current programs,
system settings, and files are replaced with the contents of the system image.

Although this type of backup includes your personal files,
we recommend that you back up your files regularly using Windows Backup so that you can restore individual files and
folders as needed. When you set up Windows Backup, you can let Windows choose what to back up,
which will include a system image,
or you can select the items that you want to back up and whether you want to include a system image.

If your computer contains several drives or partitions,
you can create a system image that includes all of them by following the steps in Back up your programs,
system settings, and files.

Signs of Infection

Signs of Infection



There are a number of signs that a computer is infected.
The following events are good indicators that a computer is infected with a virus:
Unexpected messages or images appear on your screen or you hear unusual sounds;
The CD/DVD-ROM tray opens and closes unexpectedly;
The computer arbitrarily launches a program without your assistance;
Warnings pop up on the screen about a program attempting to access the Internet, even though you initiated no such action;


There are also several typical traits of a virus infection through email:
Friends or acquaintances tell you about messages from you that you never sent;
Your inbox houses a large number of messages without return addresses or headers.
It must be noted that these signs can arise from causes other than viruses.

For example, in the case of email,
infected messages can be sent with your return address but not from your computer.

What is a driver?

Dangerous file types are those that have the potential to contain viruses or spyware that might damage your
information or the programs on your computer.
The types of files that are considered dangerous are usually program files
(.exe), macros, or .com files. The vast majority of files with these extensions do not contain viruses.

However, when you download or receive these types of files in e-mail, you should not open them unless you
trust the source or you were expecting the file.

The following are the most common file name extensions used by e-mail viruses and other malicious software.
When you receive files with these extensions, save them to a folder on your computer and
scan them immediately with up-to-date antivirus software before opening them.

Notes
Some viruses use files with two extensions to make dangerous files look like safe files.
For example, Document.txt.exe or Photos.jpg.exe. The extension farthest to the right is the one
that Windows will try to open. It is extremely rare that a legitimate file would have two extensions,
so avoid downloading or opening this type of file.

There are files that are safer to download than program or macro files, such as text (.txt), or image
(.jpg, .gif, .png) files. However, you should still be wary of unknown sources,
as some of these files have been known to have specially crafted formats that can exploit vulnerabilities
in computer systems.
