Lets go through the mobile OS....

Symbian is an operating system (OS) designed for mobile devices and smartphones,
with associated libraries, user interface, frameworks and reference implementations of common tools,
originally developed by Symbian Ltd.

In 2008, the former Symbian Software Limited was acquired by Nokia and a new independent non-profit organisation called
the Symbian Foundation was established.
Symbian OS and its associated user interfaces S60, UIQ and MOAP(S) were contributed by their owners to the foundation with
the objective of creating the Symbian platform as a royalty-free,
open source software. The platform has been designated as the successor to Symbian OS,
following the official launch of the Symbian Foundation in April 2009.
The Symbian platform was officially made available as open source code in February 2010.[3]

Symbian features pre-emptive multitasking and memory protection, like other operating systems (especially those created for use on desktop computers).
EPOC's approach to multitasking was inspired by VMS and is based on asynchronous server-based events.

Symbian OS was created with three systems design principles in mind:

    * the integrity and security of user data is paramount,
    * user time must not be wasted, and
    * all resources are scarce.

To best follow these principles, Symbian uses a microkernel, has a request-and-callback approach to services,
and maintains separation between user interface and engine.
The OS is optimised for low-power battery-based devices and for ROM-based systems (e.g. features like XIP and re-entrancy in shared libraries).
Applications, and the OS itself, follow an object-oriented design: Model-view-controller (MVC).

Later OS iterations diluted this approach in response to market demands,
notably with the introduction of a real-time kernel and a platform security model in versions 8 and 9.

There is a strong emphasis on conserving resources which is exemplified by Symbian-specific programming idioms such as descriptors and a cleanup stack.
There are similar techniques for conserving disk space (though the disks on Symbian devices are usually flash memory).
Furthermore, all Symbian programming is event-based, and the CPU is switched into a low power mode when applications are not directly dealing with an event.
This is achieved through a programming idiom called active objects. Similarly the Symbian approach to threads and processes is driven by reducing overheads.

The Symbian kernel (EKA2) supports sufficiently-fast real-time response to build a single-core phone around it—that is,
a phone in which a single processor core executes both the user applications and the signalling stack[5].
This is a feature which is not available in Linux[citation needed]. This has allowed Symbian EKA2 phones to become smaller, cheaper and more power efficient than their predecessors[citation needed].

Nokia X6

After the N & E series, nokia proudly released its X series phone X6. It is released along with its smaller sister the Nokia x3. Both these phones looks same.
It appears that the x series of phones is a development on the xpressmusic series.
The nokia x6 is a nice step up from the existing nokia 5800 xpressmIts slimmer than the 5800,
the Nokia x6 has modified one of the weaknesss of the 5800 and upgraded the in built camera to a 5 megapixel camera.
However the display screen is still 3.2” 640x360 pixel display as 5800 has.
When purchasing the Nokia x6 you can choose to have the normal version or the the version that “comes with music” allowing you unlimited music downloads.
The Nokia x6 comes with 32GB of non-expandable memory.
The Nokia X6 is a 3G phone with tri-band UMTS and support for HSDPA downloads at a maximum of 6 mbps.
Nokia promt it as a media player, being able to cope with almost all major video and audio formats.
There is a tv out port which helps you to share your data with TV & other monitering devices.
The web browser comes with Flash Lite support and the email client supports Microsoft Exchange and standard protocols.
The Nokia x6 is an S60 smart phone which does mean that new applications can be added in the future. Because of all these things we feel that the Nokia x6 is an improvement on the 5800.
We like its style and handability. The price tag might be a little too expensive for some.

While the existence of the Nokia C5 and the C6 has been confirmed.

While the existence of the Nokia C5 and the C6 has been confirmed, let us remind you that there was another C-Series handset that had made its presence felt in rumorsville not long ago. That's right. We're talking about the Nokia C3.

Well, in a recent development, the C3 has apparently cleared the FCC in U.S. The phone, which bears the internal model number RM-614, will soon see the assembly lines. The FCC website also has an image of the rear of the phone. It is clear by the looks of the phone that it is a low to mid-range segment device that would be targeted at emerging markets. It also appears wider than usual and might as well add a QWERTY keypad? But then, that bit is unconfirmed as of now. But then, it would make sense to have a QWERTY keypad on a phone that belongs to a series that focuses on social interaction and social networking.

Going by the naming convention, the C3 might just be cheaper than the C5. The latter also happens to be one of the cheapest Nokia smartphones currently available. Will the C3 beat it in the price wars? It also boils down to the fact that if this phone indeed gets a QWERTY keypad, it could be positioned above the C5.

Nokia Preparing N8-00 12-Megapixel Smartphone

Out fo China comes the first blurry snaps of what appears to be Nokia's next N-Series phone, the N8-00 which will be the first one that actually runs on the new Symbian^3 operating system that comes with, amongst other things, multi touch.
Popular tech website IT168 has some pictures of the phone which should come with a 3.5-inch (or maybe a 4-inch one) capacitive touchscreen, a 12-megapixel camera with a Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss lens and autofocus, 720p video capture and HDMI output.
The phone, which some sources say might be called the N98, also has a microSD card and shares some similarities with the N900 tablet.  Like it, the screen is a 480x800 pixels model and it has a 1200mAh battery which slides out like the HTC Legend.
Interestingly, there is also a forward facing camera and one of the pictures show the N8-00 phone with a bright greenish colour scheme. We've also noticed that the camera doesn't come with a cover.

On a sidenote, LG never released the Louvre GC990 12-megapixel camera which it showcased back in 2009 and Motorola has yet to come out with such a model.
No release dates or pricing have been confirmed and no pricing as well. The phone is likely to target the two other 12-megapixel camera smartphones on the market; the Sony Ericsson's Idou and the Samsung Pixon M8910.

Hands on with Firefox Mobile for the Nokia N900

Thanks to Mozilla we got our hands on a Nokia N900 for a few weeks and had the opportunity to give its new Firefox Mobile browser a thorough test drive. Firefox Mobile has a long development history that started in late 2008 when Mozilla announced its very early alpha browser first for the Maemo platform and then for the Windows Mobile platform. While the Windows Mobile version may have been abandoned, the Maemo version just came out of beta earlier this year and is still going strong. Despite its enthusiasm, Firefox Mobile is entering a very crowded mobile browser field that is dominated by Opera Mobile, Opera Mini and the built-in WebKit browsers found on the iPhone, Android, and WebOS handsets. With most smartphone platforms now rocking very capable browsers, how does Firefox Mobile stand up to the competition? Hit the jump to find out.
